Other strong aspects of Marian Action spirituality include intercessory prayer, devotion to our patron saints, prayers for and to our holy souls, and the prayer to St. Michael the Archangel. When we say the prayer to St. Michael, we should ask him to send angels to be with the homeless and marginalised, especially angels of joy, who can help them to experience the motherly compassion of the Queen of Joy.
Our patron saints teach us much about the spiritual life in Christ, in particular St. Theresa teaches us to have complete childlike trust in God, so we should ask her to send roses of love into our hearts and minds, so we can experience the deep peace and love of the Lord, and pass this on to others.
We also learn from St. Joseph the virtue of selfless giving- he willingly took on the role of spouse of Mary and foster-father of Jesus, with no thoughts as to his own rights, and faithfully took care of this holy family in obedience to, and through faith in, God.
Sts. Peter and Paul had central roles in the development of the early church, bringing the word of Christ to pagans- letting people know God’s love who otherwise might not have known it- similar to what we aim to do in our ministry.
And St. Mungo boldly preached the word of God despite much opposition, his courage being allied to a great compassion for all people, which in fact in some cases led to miracles taking place- through his intercession, maybe we should ask to see improbable things taking place.
